As per Ayurved, having food is very pious thing similar to worshiping God. We should always clean our hands and feet before food, it increases our digestive fire.
.As per Ayurved, food should be consumed twice in a day. 3 hrs after sunrise and just before sunset. This rule is for them who dont feel hungry frequently and have low digestive fire.
.If you feel hungry in the afternoon and if your digestive fire is strong than you can consume meal in the afternoon also.
.If your digestive fire is weak but still you feel little hungry in the afternoon, you should consume light weight food or roasted food in very less amount. Roasted foods like: Roasted rice flakes, puffed rice, roasted peanuts or roasted gram.
.Eat food whenever your digestive fire is high which means when you really feel hungry. If you feel hungry just after waking up then you should consume food at that time.
.If you feel hungry before going to sleep or after your night meal then try to eat food items which are light in nature like puffed rice, roated peanuts, dry rice flakes.
.Dont take bath immediately after food, wait for 3 hrs to get your meal digested. Exercise also should be avoided just after food.
.Night meal should be consumed just after sunset or before 8 pm. 10pm to 2 am is Pitta time and if we consume food before 8pm then during Pitta time our food will get digested properly. If you take milk at night meal then avoid any salt made food along with it (Sendha Namak or pink salt can be consumed with milk). All kinds of skin disease comes if milk is consumed with salt-made and oil-made food. NOTE:Sleep at 11pm max, if we dont sleep before 11pm then Vata dominates in our body and disturbs our food digestion process.
NOTE:If your digestive fire is high and you can digest heavy food very easily then you can consume food whenever you feel hungry. But 3 hrs of gap should be mainted between consecutive meals.
