In Pre-winter(Shishir Ritu) and winter(Hemant Ritu) season our body stores Kapha in body. When spring (Vasant Ritu) season starts this stored Kapha starts melting due to increasing heat in this season. Due to this our digestive fire becomes slow. It gives problems like indigestion, Cough & cold, low appetite, Skin itching, dizziness, idleness, fatty liver.
Solution :To balance the increased Kapha in body we should add three tastes Spicy, Bitter, Astringent specially in this season. Sweet, Sour, Salty taste should be avoided in this season because they increases Kapha in body.
Grain :Rice and wheat or any other grain should be either old (because it is light in weight) or should be heated on pan for 2 to 3 mins before cooking. Heat rice or flour on a pan for 2 to 3 min than cook it or make the dough. It will become light in nature and easily digestable. Avoid cooker to make rice & dal as it will make the food heavy. All heavy foods increases Kapha and in spring season already Kapha dominance is more.
Pulses (Daal) :All kinds of dal should be roasted on pan for 2 to 3 mins before cooking. Avoid urad dal in this season, it increases Kapha in body.
Vegetables :Bitter gourd, Parwal, all green leafy vegetables, radish, banana vegetable, brinjal, methi leaf, coriander leaf, New neem leaf 5 to 7 along with honey and black pepper should be consumed. Neem leaf purify blood and protects us from all Kapha related diseases: Itchy skin, blockage, fatty liver, lazyness, obesity and all viral diseases like Dengue, Maleria, Viral fever.
Avoid Milk Products :Paneer, curd, Rabri, Kheer(payas), makkhan, milk.
Fruits :Papaya, Guava, Aamla all seasonal fruits.
Spices :Black pepper, Chilli pickle, Fenugreek pickle or masala, honey, Harar, Suhaga, Heeng & methi (asafoetida & fenugreek ) tarka should be used.
Drink :Honey or dry ginger powder water: Boil 1 litre of water until it becomes half, cools it down and add a spoon of honey or sunth (dry ginger) powder 2 to 3 pinch. Luke warm water or buttermilk with ajwain (carrom seed), black salt, coriander leaf, heeng, Cumin can be consumed after food.
Tea : Milk tea should be avoided.
.All kinds of roasted food like: roasted (not fried) pappad, Roasted: peanut, chana, Peas, Corn.
.Exercise, Walk , yoga, Pranayam and Ubatan (before bath)should be done daily to reduce the Kapha from body. Use luke warm water or neem water to take bath. You can apply surma in your eyes during this season.
.Day time sleeping should be avoided as it increases Kapha in body. Old age and kids can sleep in day time.
.Vaman ayurvedic treatment is best for all Kapha related disease.
Note :If you are a sweet lover than try to consume in very less amount and add honey in your diet to cut the extra Kapha.
