According to Ayurved, instead of learning vitamins, calcium, Phosphorous quantity in food, we should learn our food nature i.e Vata, Pitta and Kapha. All food which has been grown or available in our environment is good, but we have to choose whether it is suitable for our body type or not. Food suggestions are different for Vata, Pitta and Kapha to keep the balance between them. In Ayurved, body nature is divided into Vata, Pitta and Kapha. And everyone should have food as per their body nature type to avoid problems & diseases. For an example we know that calcium is good for our bone development and we know that Milk is the good source of calcium. But we already know that milk is not suitable for all nature type of people as per Ayurved. So in this case is it good to consume milk for everyone ?
.In this case Ayurved says that Calcium is available in many food items like Milk, ghee, Curd etc. But you should choose the correct food type to fulfill the defeciency of calcium. Like people who are Pitta dominant can consume milk in their diet because milk is cold and heavy in nature. But if milk is consumed by Kapha and Vata dominant people they may face digestion problem because milk is heavy in nature and heavy to digest and Kapha and Vata dominanat people have low digestive fire. So for them Ghee is good option to fulfill the calcium defeciency.
.That's why it is more important to understand our food nature or type instead of protein and vitamin rich food. Maybe you consume vitamin and protein rich food but it is important to understand whether your body is able to digest those food.
