As per Ayurved, whenever Vata increases in our body it gives 80 kinds of diseases like all kinds of joints pain, paralysis, hairfall, loose jaw, Insomnia etc. Vata naturally increases in our body after the age of 40 (old age) and gives all old age diseases. Oil massage is the best solution for Vata related diseases. Joints pain problem is due to combination of Vata and Kapha both because all joints contains natural fat and when Vata increases in our body it starts drying natural fat of our body. To cure joints pain problem first we need to cure Vata and Kapha problem. We need something which is heat and smooth in nature to regain the natural fat of our joints and to reduce Vata.

Joints Pain Reason and Solution :

1. Oil Massage :Massage your body daily before bath with mustard or sesame oil. These oils are heat and smooth in nature and reduces Vata & Kapha effect in our body. In Rainy & Winter seasons Vata effect increases and gives Vata diseases or joints pain. To avoid such problems massage your body daily with oil. In Summer season you can use coconut oil for massage as this oil helps in reducing only Vata effect (not Kapha).

If you have pain in any particular area then massage that area specially. Oil massage on affected area removes dryness and gives strength to joints. If there is any stiffness along with pain then warm the oil along with a pinch of salt and then massage the affected area. Salt helps in reducing stiffness and knot related problem.

2. Desi Cow-Ghee :If our joint moisture has dried up in that case also we suffer with severe pain. In this case boil a glass of water along with a spoon of ghee. When it becomes one fourth then turn off the gas. Drink this water, this boiled water will help in reducing dryness and ghee will give smoothness to our joints.

3. Giloy : Take half spoon of giloy powder add a spoon of ghee and consume this twice a day morning and in the evening before food. You can boil giloy powder with mustard and sesame oil and can apply on affected area.

4. Garlic : If your digestion is good and if you have joints pain in that case take 4 or 5 pcs of garlic and roast it in sesame oil for 4 to 5 mins. Consume this in winter season in your food it will help in reducing joints pain. If you have acidity problem or heat problem then dont use this. You can boil 5 to 6 garlic buds in either mustard oil or Sesame oil and when garlic becomes dark brown color then you can turn off the gas. Apply this oil on your joints pain it will give relief. It won't help in joints pain which has happened due to blood related problem it is beneficial only for Vata related pain.

5. Babul Seeds : Consume babul seed power with milk in the morning and in the evening. It helps in Vata problems like osteoporosis and hollow bones related problems which happens after age of 40 (specially in women).

6. Fenugreek (Methi) :It is very heat in nature and helps in reducing Vata and Kapha effects from our body. You can make laddu of it using black jaggery (1 yr old is more beneficial). Consume this in vegetables form twice a week. Before cooking vegetables first boil the leaf and drain the boiled water. You can soak 10 to 15 seeds in hot water in the morning or normal water at night and consume this with honey in the morning in empty stomach. Do this for 10 days.

7. Cinnamon : If you have any stiffness problem in body in that case you should use cinnamon in your food. For stiffness, the main reason is Vata and Kapha. Cinnamon is heat and dry in nature and helps in reducing Vata and Kapha. Make a paste of cinnamon powder and apply it on affected area. Keep it for 2 to 3 mins and wash it with water and apply coconut oil on it. Cinnamon is very heat in nature and opens the blood circulation and reduces stiffness. Coconut oil is cold in nature and it reduces the extra heat of cinnamon. Sometimes people who are Pitta dominant may face red pimples on skin after applying it, thats why it is important to apply coconut oil on that area.
